Well the story is about a UF student who is a member of the UF breakdancing club. Most of the audio is about the student’s passion toward breakdancing. From the photos and the first few seconds of the audio, I knew how much love this person has toward what he is doing, but I really wanted to know more about breakdancing and more about the club at UF. Do they participate in any competitions or do they perform at any events?
The first part of the audio was interesting: the part where someone is giving instructions draws your attention, but we don’t get to see the first photograph until about the ninth second. I just think that a strong image at the beginning would have compensated the audio even more.
I think the ending is basically the same as the beginning. The guy kept talking about how he loves breakdancing, but the emotions expressed at the end were much stronger than they were at the beginning. Also, the final picture, which was of the subject smiling, visually depicted how the subject enjoys breakdancing.
I would say that 20 percent of the story is about breakdancing at UF and 80 percent is about the subject expressing his love toward his hobby.
I wanted to know more about the UF aspect of breakdancing. As I mentioned above, I wanted to know whether or not the group competes or performs at certain events. So the question I wanted to be answered was what is the goal of the breakdancing club?
The pictures, especially the close-ups, were amazing, and the thing that captured my attention the most was the fact that they were in black and white. The story is about a certain kind of art, and the pictures, through the black and white effects, further expressed the artistic side of breakdancing.

I totally agree with you as far as there being more of a profile of one person to this soundslides than information about the actual activity, the club and its other members. I was also left feeling a little empty because I wanted to hear more about what the group does like competitions and the like. Still, it was interesting to hear the subject’s passion for the activity. The photos were great! I really liked the black and white. It gave the slide show a very nice feel.
Yes, I think you both are right. The reason why I did not include nothing about competitions in which they participate is that they don’t go to competitions as a group, it is just a bunch of friends with similar interest and tastes that see life in a particular way. I chose this guy because he is an example of not just breakdancing but Hip Hop underground culture. That is why I think he is so important. Thanks.
